We implemented a new feature called "Load & Replace" to replace previously exported characters with updated ones which is showcased on the latest patch notes over here.

Implemented.
If a character fails to load in an interaction (e.g. version incompatibility, corrupt/missing file), prompt the user to select a different character file to attempt to load in its place. You could also just make it a feature to be able to swap/update character models used in an interaction. Beyond just making it easier to update interactions, it would also make it easier for artists to do things like YCH interactions. "
