gender type option
It would be great if they could work on being able to change the gender type without changing the body (body mesh) or repositioning the clothes, so you can change the genitals of the character and not the whole body, this as an option.

In general you can always swap genders on the body, no matter which body type is selected.
Probably you are referring to characters with custom offsets enabled.
On such characters, the gender becomes hard coded due to how custom offsets are programmed and operating, bringing up the mentioned message window where garments get unbound.
This is something that can't be changed.

I'm not sure what you mean? The body mesh is identical between different genders, except for the crotch area (which you most definitely WANT to be different - that's the whole point of selecting different genders).
If you use custom offsets when you switch gender (mainly to balls) it causes weird deformations. only way around it that I've found it to export both gender options, and then data transfer the offsets to the other gender.
