Aight, here's your criticism.

The halberd:
1. You should turn off tessellation (it's under coloration -> shading -> material) so the shaft doesn't get pinched
2. It has a 1024 texture attached, but only a 512 resolution allowed
3. It's kinda too low poly, compared to...

The armour:
0. I personally wouldn't make a suit of plate armour as a garment, because a) it has to be rigid and b) you can't make a garment with sharp edges/bevel weights, because it just breaks furryvne. With the overlapping plate kinda thing you went with, however, it's justifiable (I messed with it a bit, it would be fairly tricky to do it with just parts)
1. There are two pieces on the back of the neck that are almost entirely sunken into the body. Also, there are two pieces on the stomach that are completely obscured.
2. The plates on the back are kinda too flat, and don't conform to the curve of the spine/body very well.
3. There's no reason for shoulderpads to be a garment. They could be separated into two parts (the shoulderpad itself and the upper arm piece), and bound in the same way as bracers.

The technical:
1. I assume you made this using subsurf+solidify? The inner side of bracers, shoulderpads and most of the armour is solid, which is inflating the tri count significantly (the plates on the back don't have this problem, forgot to tick "only rim"?)
2. The origin point for the bracers is pretty badly misplaced (helmet and halberd also have this problem). You can fix this in blender by moving the model in object mode to the world origin and doing ctrl-a -> apply all (or right click -> set origin -> to geometry).
3. Armour around neck/armpit area is a bit stretchy and could use a smoothing mask in these places

The poses:
Generally look kinda stiff/clumsy, mostly because shoulder nodes aren't rotated at all or rotated too little. Looking at reference photos or just flailing in front of a mirror would help (pay attention to how joints move and how legs and arms are positioned relative to the torso).

The visuals:
1. Textures overall look messy imo (happens when you apply tiled texture to the body because of how its UVs are laid out, you get seams/textures flowing the wrong way, especially noticeable on the boobas ). I don't really have a solution to that, other than playing with masks or drawing a texture in something like substance painter.
2. Every tiling value is negative? (idk if it does anything different, just caught my eye)

@FANCY that's quite an essay you left me. thank you for your time and care in helping me improve :)

first of all I must address something, namely that I did not design the armour or accessories. this is all royalty free stuff. that would probably explain a lot of the clunkiness as I did not custom make it.

I'm a complete beginner to 3d modelling, but with enough time and effort, designing my own outfits for my characters is the eventual goal. until then I'm mainly messing around seeing what works and what doesn't.

as for the rest of your tips, they are very useful! they are sure to improve my future characters. I'll return to/redo this character once I have enough experience to make meaningful upgrades and patches
