Many corners of the animal world are ripe with conflict. Based on the subtle but still present nature of aggression, domination, a need to fight and need for community is within a great deal of creatures. This is especially so in mammals and mammalian society. Brutus is just one piece of a greater puzzle in the male dominated mammalian world. Running a criminal syndicate of Anubian Jackals that constantly fight rival gangs, dealing with racketeering, drug production and trafficking and brothel management.

But the likes of Ryana were smarter, more cunning and more intuitive. The constant repetitious behaviors have bored her. Thus, she came in and superseded Brutus' role as crime boss and management over his affairs. Of course, Brutus is a good boy, working so hard for his pack. So she made him his number 2 as her closes confidant, and still run things how he can with Ryana's supervision and advisement. In exchange, he and his kin could breed to their heart's content and cement a new legacy for themselves. And now he has become her loyal dog.
