Nunnehi, the hopeful explorer.

She has spent most her young life living on one of the few remaining nature preserves on the borders of Anthropolis. She has always had what her clan calls "a wandering spirit", making her name an apt gift from her parents. Long has Nunnehi awaited the day she would reach adulthood in her clan, so that she could begin her journey into the world. Now at the age of 20, she can leave with her clan's blessing to explore the world at large and behold it's endless mysteries.

Even stronger than her adventurous spirit and insatiable curiosity however, is her desire to find her sister. 10 years her senior, Nunnehi's sister was born under what her clan deemed a bad omen. Instead of receiving the unique hereditary marks of the clan, her sister was born with fur blacker than the stormiest night, and nine tails instead of one. She was more aggressive and far stronger than even the best hunter of their clan by the time she was a mere 15 years of age. Nunnehi's last memory of her sister is the night that she packed her few sparse belongings under the cover of darkness, preparing to leave the clan at only age 17.

-An old memory-

Nunnehi (age 7): "Don't go Vee, you'll be in big trouble! Father always says that those that leave before the clan see's them to adulthood are doomed to be alone in the world!"

Vee (age 17): "Sorry Nu, but I can't stay here anymore. I'm angry and bored all the time. I'm stronger our best warriors, and yet father refuses to let me join the hunters because I'm a female. I've already outgrown this place. If I stay, I'm afraid my anger is gonna make me do something I'll regret."

Nunnehi: "But...I'll miss you. I'll be all alone."

Vee: "You won't be alone. There are tons of kids in the clan, and I promise that I'll find a way to send you letters every month."

Nunnehi: "You promise? You promise you'll send me letters?"

Vee: "I've never lied to you Nu, and I never will. Once you're ready, come find me. I'll always let you know where to look."

-Present day-

As Nunnehi waves her family waves goodbye to her clan from the bus in town, she stares down at the last letter she received from her sister at the beginning of the month.

Hey Nu, I've been keeping track, and that means I know what the last day of this month was, your big "2-0"! I still can't believe my little sister is actually and "real adult" now. Well I always keep my promises to you. You already know I've been in the city this whole time (literally an hour away, but of course the clan is all like, SHE MUST BE SHUNNED, GRRR!!!). But to be more specific, I'm in a place called the RLD. It's a little rough here and you gotta stay on your toes, but I know you'll be fine. Just use those moves we would always practice together at night when mother and father were out speaking with the other elders, and you'll kick any annoying ass that get's in your way. I'll keep an eye out for you little sis, but this is your first big adventure so I'm not gonna just make it boring by being at the bus stop waiting for you. Come find me Nu.

Nunnehi folds the letter back up and put's it back in her belt pocket. "My first big adventure is right! Just you wait, I'll find you Veetra!"
