But beneath that charming exterior, he’s battling deep-seated anxiety.

He’s never been successful with girls — or rather, he always has been, but only as “the best buddy I ever had.”
Phrases like “Oh, you’re such a good friend...” or “You’re such a nice guy!” are all too familiar to him.

He’s spent his whole life stuck in the friend-zone, never having experienced a real romantic relationship to this day.
As time went by, he gradually gave up on the idea of ever meeting someone who’d see him as more than just the best buddy.

Well, that was the case until now.
Turns out, his working college Delaney finds him really interesting on so many levels!
One day, she said something so unexpectedly funny that Jake couldn’t help but burst into a loud, uncontrollable hyena laugh - only to immediately clap his hands over his mouth in embarrassment.
